Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

Healthrise utilises the WorkHab FCE System.

The WorkHab FCE is an internationally recognised evaluation tool that enables a licensed evaluator to objectively measure, determine and report on the functional abilities of an individual in any environment.  The system is predominantly used to determine an individual’s safe and objective physical capabilities, establish and monitor rehabilitation goals, and to aid in return to work facilitation. It is also commonly used as a medico-legal tool and for disability assessments for the purposes of payment/insurance determination. WorkHab FCE’s use evaluation protocols that have been validated in peer reviewed literature.

WorkHab FCE’s can provide answers to questions like – ‘Is the worker fit enough to work or return to work?’, ‘How much can they safely lift, carry , push and pull?’, or ‘Can they complete their normal work duties?’.

FCE’s are 100% function based, and have the ability to test actual job capabilities. Clients’ physiological responses are monitored continuously during assessment. Medical clearance to complete assessments will be sought for clients with identified risk factors.

Functional Capacity Evaluations require approximately three hours of assessment with the client, and an additional two  - three hours (depending on the complexity of the assessment) to score the assessment and complete a detailed report.
