Ergonomic Assessment
Ergonomics is perhaps best functionally described as ensuring that the work environment suits the employee. An ergonomically sound environment will promote higher efficiency and reduce the likelihood of musculoskeletal injury/stress for the employee.
Onsite assessment by Occupational Therapy staff will include:
- Environmental factors – heat, light, noise
- Physical Factors –the workstation itself e.g. desk/chair height, suitability, adjustment
- Anthropometric factors – height, weight, reach
Healthrise staff are experienced in providing assessment in a range of environments from a more traditional office workstation, to workstations such as heavy machinery. Ergonomic assessment can take anywhere between twenty minutes to an hour depending on the complexity of the workstation.
